Cast the first stone…

hand with stone in throwing positionAs I get older I find myself becoming less and less judgmental of people. I don’t judge them to be good or bad anymore but whether they do good or bad things. Or better yet, whether they make good or bad choices.

This makes many conversations hard, as I find myself thinking “Why would someone do that?”, while others are condemning that person. I have found life to contain many many shades of grey and that few things are what they first appear to be. Because of that, I am often seen as sympathetic to the “bad” and “evil” people; as condoning their behavior. Nothing can be further from the truth. I just choose to see people as God sees them. His wonderful creations/children who have made some bad decisions and gone astray.

I no longer make conclusions based on superficial information. I ask questions and try to get to the heart of the matter. And if I can’t find or discern the truth (which is the vast majority of the time) then I accept that I do not know and will not judge. I will not take sides. Everyone has a purpose for being here.
