I’m taking this a bit further. I wholeheartedly agree that we should disconnect more and focus on what is around us. But I also encourage everyone to take some time to be alone. Take the time to get used to and get comfortable with being alone. Just take an hour and sit or lie down. Don’t read, don’t watch TV, don’t listen to music, don’t let yourself be bored. Just be. Don’t worry about the tasks waiting to be done. Just be. Don’t think about the noises outside, or the cracks in the wall, or the itch on your leg. Just be. At that moment you are not a mom, a husband, a doctor, a bowler, or anything else but just you.
